Since it was inaugurated in 2007, "Batekmila – Basque Worlds" has been exhibited at fourteen venues. In the Basque Country (including Bayonne, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Vitoria and Pamplona), in France (Paris, Bordeaux, Albi, Ambarès and Lagrave) as well as Barcelona. What is a Basque today? The "Batekmila - Basque Worlds" multimedia exhibition invites visitors to discover and question the practices and experience of a millenary culture and language - euskara. It consists of 4 theme-based modules.
A wide variety of technological and interactive processes offer a singular and modern vision of these "Basque Worlds". A kaleidoscope of different views by contemporary artists, photographers, writers, musicians, producers...
This exhibition provides a multilingual and current vision (Basque, French, Spanish, English and Catalan) of the Basque Worlds of Euskal Herria (Basque Country) and the Basque diaspora.
